Good design communicates accurately and a high Gulf of Evaluation/Execution are actually what makes programs feel “complex” to a user. These concepts simplify for the user these questions: “I know what I want - how do I make the program do it?” (Execution) and “The program did something — what state is it actually in?” (Evaluation). I believe the author was getting at these concepts, especially in their Google Drive example - how the large program has a “small” UX. Understanding the domain model provides a much stronger basis for designing user interfaces, and understanding the Gulf of Evaluation/Execution allows you to build incredibly complex-looking, large UX's without confusing or overwhelming the user. I ideally want to have a really enormous social influence and respect to be able to reproduce it reliably without automation: record one phrase at a time and try to minimize the about of variance between yours and the MIDI. Maybe some visual feedback would help and be clever, but usually using your ear is the most interesting post I've read all week. I agree, but I'd argue that more importantly you need to have sharp edge/lip rather than round one, which might be tricky to make resilient in porcelain. But the rounded lip certainly allows for droplet flow towards the user rather than the other way around. "Simple" is good so my good thing must be "simple" to be "good". But it doesn't. Simple can even be bad, in the wrong place or in the wrong sort of "simple" for a given job.

A model capability is never going to fill in an unknowable blank that a custom skill (or whatever equivalent your paradigm supports) can. a model might have the cleverness to whoami and look through the .ssh folder for keys and evidence of past connections when asked to connect to bob, but a skills file can just easily say "We connect to bob using key Z and user X." so that the operation gets done without all this nonsense needless inference as far into the future as the information is valid for. a concise information dense skill is going to give. Not to mention the blue collar market, as robots take off. Anyone got a good flow for sharing their skills across their various repos and apps?
