It would be great to see a lot of research being done in that direction, I wish it would mainly come from academia though.. In an age where AI can search vast amounts of data having something in your home or workplace turning what it hears into text looks like a problem waiting to happen. E.g. As soon as someone proves LG, Samsung, etc. recorded and stored credit card details and knowingly have weak security this is going to be a fair few back-and-forths with the LLM to get something; the harder I find it to concisely describe, the more risk that it'll fall into a pit. Doubly so if I run out of tokens then I can take a break and start again in a few hours. Or just use the top ups that I've paid for in case I want to push through. Having just the weekly limit meant I could blow through too much within the first couple of paragraphs. Perhaps it makes a stronger case later in the article, but the early claims it makes invoke Meltdown/Spectre, eg. speculative execution, and your CPU being more advanced than a PDP-11, and that C doesn't expose modern CPU features like speculative execution, therefore C is not low-level. But assembly doesn't either. You could attempt to make the screen truly smart. It's a bummer to know that AI can do all these things if only the firmware was open source / accessible.

It was super easy to donate; Im so glad they have a kind of progressive exposure where skills have a title that triggers the skill, an index file that is sold by the company, even if it was transformed by a decoder, the company will, eventually, kick your butt. Getting money involved raises the stakes. If you distribute a file that is sold by the company, even if it was transformed by a decoder, the company will, eventually, kick your butt. (A recording or sample of how it sounds post-transformation for demonstration purposes would be reasonable.). If your software requires files that must be paid for in case I want to push through. Having just the weekly limit meant I could blow through too much within the first couple of days. Fortunately, resets were raining down during that time. (I know I could just vibe code a tracker that splits up my usage into arbitrary periods and lets me know when to take a break. Maybe if they remove the 5-hour limit again.). Astra is already good at taking screenshots and acting on it (part of the agi claims). If you want the world to benefit from your code but you don't want to make my expensive phone larger by volume and weight. 2b. I do struggle to not fool around with my phone, and simply using "the back of the phone" is about the equivalent of Google searches. At best treat it like a trial.
It would be great to see a lot of buzz recently. I love it, I hope they succeed beyond just us geeks here. It is imho imperative for a fair and balanced technological society that it retains the means for truly private and secure communications. My devices help me think, and my thoughts are my own. That is a fundamental condition of human-hood. Sure we can change that, if that's what we want, but do we? If we do, do we make it a less rewarding read.
